Fairfax County does not use the statewide CJISWeb case management system. The county runs its own tools for online access to civil court records. As of July 2024, the county launched the free eCaseSearch portal. You can use eCaseSearch to look up civil case information by party name, case number, or attorney without a subscription or login. The system is available to the public at no cost and covers active and recent civil court filings.

fairfax county CPAN subscription civil court records
The CPAN subscription portal at fairfaxcounty.gov gives attorneys, lenders, and title professionals deeper remote access to Fairfax County civil court records and land documents.

For more in-depth remote access, Fairfax County offers the CPAN (Court Public Access Network) subscription service. CPAN costs $150 per quarter or $600 per year. This tool is used by title companies, law firms, and others who need frequent or bulk access to civil court documents. It goes beyond what eCaseSearch shows and includes additional document-level detail not visible in the free portal.

If you need older civil court records that predate the online systems, a visit to the clerk's office or the Merrifield Records Center may be required. Staff at (703) 691-7320 can tell you which system holds the records you need and whether they are available to view without an appointment.
